How Do I Maintain the Equipment Better?

Like a car, electronic equipment requires some basic maintenance to make sure it avoids performance issues. Follow these steps daily to prevent the most common issues.

These steps should be performed once a day to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.

SYSTEM RESTART:

  1. Restart Server PC and Network Switch once a week.
  2. Turn on Score Monitors and Arena Lighting
  3. Turn on Arena Sound System
  4. Start All Delta Strike Software
    • Game Server, Games Manager, Scoreboard
  5. Unplug all vests from the charging rack

Check every pack for:

  1. Any damage; torn vests, missing buckles, cracks in Phaser shell, damage to hoses
  2. “Rattle Check” all Phasers; shake Phaser and listen to for any parts that may have come loose inside
  3. Trigger and Hand Sensor functionality
  4. Screen functionality is correct
  5. Any packs failing these checks should be pulled aside and reported as per Best Practices Procedures

Check all Phasers are communicating with the server:

  1. Reset all phasers from PC – All Phasers should light up.
  2. Use the remote to put all Phasers into sleep mode – All Phasers should turn off their vest lights.
  3. Any packs failing these checks should be checked, and if necessary, pulled aside and reported as per Vest Practices Procedures.
  4. Reset all Phasers one more time, add them to a One-Shot Game mode and verify that they tag players out.

Don't let those pesky repairs pile up like dirty laundry—give Support a shout right away!

The tendency is to set a vest aside to deal with later when you don't know how to fix it. What usually happens is you end up with multiple vests that are not working during a busy time, causing stress and unhappy customers. Contacting and utilizing support is included with all Delta Strike systems, so the best practice is to contact us immediately to help fix any issues. We would rather have 20 calls a week for small issues than an emergency call when you have a line of people waiting to play (and so would your GM).
